Types of Control Valves (Gate Valve and Globe Valve)
Control valves are essential components in various industrial processes and systems. They regulate the flow of fluids (liquids, gases, or steam) in pipelines by modulating the opening and closing of the valve to maintain a desired setpoint for pressure, flow rate, temperature, or level.
Gate Valve
- Used for on-off control.
- Gate valve are not capable for controlling flow, they are designed for media isolation purposes
- Simple construction
- Use in high temperature and pressure conditions
Globe Valve
- Used for flow regulation
- Globe valves are capable of changing flow direction and flow rate
- Much more complex
- Used for high-temperature conditions
